SUE HEGARTY taught school in San Jose and San Francisco, where she later was Curator of the American Carousel Museum.She has been an antique collector and dealer for several years and has had numerous freelance articles published. A log home Sue and her husband owned in Whitefish, MT,was the inspiration for the book. After living in the Bay Area for several years, they now live in Camino in the scenic apple and wine country.


ALICE SHAW attended the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, FL, and the Art INstitute of Chicago. Her paintings are recognizable by the realism of the many animals she portrays in settings of exceptional charm and detail. Her art has been featured on cards, tiles, pottery, and fanciful painted furniture which she has produces in her studios in Santa Barbara and Georgetown. Alice recently moved with her dog and four cats to Northern Humboldt County.
